Contraindications

How to apply Push Metagrip Thumb Brace?

1. Before applying the Push MetaGrip by Bracelab to hand the first time, gently bend the metal insert slightly outward so the thumb area is somewhat larger.

2. Open the straps. Slide fingers and thumb into the brace and push the brace as far down on thumb as possible. Gently, but firmly, close the straps; do not pull them tightly.

3. Touch thumb tip to index fingertip, making a gentle "O" shape, but be sure thumb muscles are relaxed and the thumb joints are slightly flexed. Look directly into palm to be sure thumb is not too far across palm or too far out of palm but in a mid-position.

4. With thumb in the mid-position and relaxed, squeeze the metal insert firmly so it snugly fits around the muscles of thumb.

How to care for Push MetaGrip Thumb Brace?

To ensure proper care of Push MetaGrip and to maximize the longevity, watch the care video and read the care instructions below:
  • The Push MetaGrip can be hand washed or machine washed on gentle cycle, cool water with mild detergents. Place the CMC Brace in a small mesh bag prior to machine washing. Never place the Thumb Push Brace into a clothes dryer or dishwasher.
  • Over-tightening the straps will cause the straps to stretch over time and weaken the hook and loop closure.
  • Excessively frequent application and removal of the Push MetaGrip CMC Thumb Brace increases strap fatigue.
  • Keeping the entire brace clean and debris-free prolongs life.
  • Heavy and/or repeated resistive activities while wearing the Push MetaGrip increases stress on the straps.
  • Exposure to harsh chemicals or heavy soil can deteriorate the brace.
  • Use latex, rubber, or gardening gloves over the brace during cleaning or gardening.

The Push MetaGrip must be correctly Sized and Squeezed to work. To ensure proper sizing, watch the sizing video and read below given instructions:

  • Use a soft measuring tape to measure the circumference of the hand just below the knuckles of all fingers, excluding the thumb. This indicates hand size, but not necessarily thumb size. Please take this into consideration when choosing MetaGrip size. If measurement is near the size break point, only trying on both sizes can allow the user to determine the best fit.
