Axelgaard Foam Electrode Features
- Axelgaard’s ValuTrode Foam Electrodes are made for repeated electrotherapy sessions.Â
- The electrodes come in varying shapes and sizes but all have the same patented multi-stick adhesive that consists of multiple gel layering for maintaining current flow and the ability to stick to the skin for multiple applications.
- The formulation of the hydrogel top layer is optimized for bonding to the electrode to prevent delamination and loss of current.Â
- Axelgaard's controlled mesh placement provides consistent structural support.
- A unique blend of materials creates an effective and durable electrode that promotes optimum current and treatment in neurostimulation therapy.

Precautions
- Do not submerge electrodes in water.
- Do not remove electrodes by pulling the lead wire.
- Do not pull the lead wire to remove the pin.
- Do not place electrodes on the "NO" side of the Release Liner.
Additional Tips
- Please note that when electrodes show wear and tear they should be replaced with a new set to ensure that you will continue to receive quality performance. Remember, electrodes are disposable. Electrodes are intended for single-patient use.
- Consult the stimulator manual for proper electrode size.
- When electrodes begin losing adhesion, gently rubbing one or two drops of water onto the gel
- surface may extend usage. If not, replace it with new electrodes.
- When not in use, always reseal electrodes in their original package and store them at room temperature.
- The use of hot and cold packs will cause an electrode's gel to break down over time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do electrodes contain latex?
All products manufactured by Axelgaard Manufacturing are latex-free. It does not use latex of any kind in the electrodes.
Are electrodes disposable?
Yes. When electrodes show wear and tear or are no longer comfortable for the patient, simply replace them with a new set.
Can electrodes be used by more than one patient?
For hygiene reasons, the FDA requires our electrodes to be used by a single patient only. Sharing electrodes can lead to cross-contamination. So, it's best to use a fresh set for each patient.
How do I remove an electrode from the skin?
Always lift electrodes from the edge, NOT the lead wire.
Can I use hot or cold packs?
The use of hot or cold packs for long periods of time can cause adhesive separation.
