Serola Biomechanics Belt is designed to provide pain relief and prevent injuries by compressing and supporting the SI joints (Sacroiliac Joints). It wraps around the hips and pelvis and can be adjusted to provide a customized fit. The belt also has two pads that sit directly over the SI joints to provide additional support and compression. Serola SI Belt is commonly used to treat conditions such as sacroiliitis, SI joint dysfunction, and low back pain caused by SI joint instability. How does the Serola Belt work?

  • The Serola SI Belt is designed to hold the SIJ together so the likelihood of it opening beyond normal between treatments is greatly reduced.
  • If the joint re-opens, the Serola SI Belt will minimize re-injury to the joint and its ligaments.
  • During rehabilitation, the Serola SI Belt holds the sacrum to the ilia with the proper tension so that, during exercise, as you bring the ilia backward, it carries the sacrum with it.
  • The ligaments are not stressed and the joint remains intact; this is critical to proper rehabilitation.
  • Too much or too little tension will create muscular spasm and inhibition.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between The Serola SI Belt and other SI Belts?

The Serola Sacroiliac Belt separates itself first with the quality and care from which it is made. It has a unique, patented combination of materials that provide the optimal tension, durability, and function to support the trunk, pelvis, and hips better than any other belt. Every single product is inspected multiple times before ever being sold and is made with high-end, durable materials meant to last. Second, the function of the belt focuses not only on stabilization but normalization of the SI joint, whereas other products do not. Some belts are simple elastic structures that are wrapped around the body. The ligaments are essentially non-elastic, therefore elasticity cannot establish a stopping point. Other belts try to lock the SI Joint, but that too can restrict the joint causing further injury. The Serola Belt uses a combination of a strong structure, supplemented by an elastic layer to place the joint into a normal range of function. This not only stabilizes the joint allowing for pain relief, but it normalizes the joint allowing injury prevention and healing.

2. Is it ideal to wear a sacroiliac belt to bed?

The Serola Sacroiliac Belt can be worn 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, even while sleeping.

3. Can the Serola SI Belt be worn directly against the skin?

Yes. The Serola Sacroiliac Belt is made from a high-quality, patented, and hypoallergenic foam that can be used against the skin safely.

4. What is the importance of using a Serola Biomechanics Belt during pregnancy?

The importance of using the Serola Maternity Belt during and, especially, after pregnancy cannot be overemphasized. During pregnancy, the ligaments, under hormonal influences, become lax and stretch to allow the pelvis to spread for delivery. It is important to hold the sacroiliac and pubic joints firmly together after delivery in order to assist the ligaments in shortening and re-aligning the pelvis properly.

5. How long should you wear SI Belt?

There is no limitation to how long the belt can be worn and wearing the belt for long periods of time will not cause any negative effects.
